About Author

Carlton L. Burford

Carlton L. Burford was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to Alfred Burford Sr. and Clara Johnson in November 1955 and is currently married to his loving wife, Bernetta L. Burford. He has three lovely daughters (Tiffany, Tonya, and Toya) and three grandchildren
(Shayne, Alijah, and Kaleb). He attended college at General Motors Institute of Technology and graduated in July 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering. 

In November 1978, Pastor Burford was called by God into the gospel ministry and attended Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan, and in 1999 received an honorary doctorate of divinity degree from the Great Commission Bible College and Theological University in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

He is currently the founder and pastor of the Inner Peace Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Pastor Burford believes that the Bible is the Word of God and is fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts. He believes that there is one living and true God eternally existing in three persons (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit) and that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son who was conceived by the Holy Spirit through a virgin birth.

After forty-three years of ministry, including preaching, teaching, and counseling, I have engaged with many on the topics of heaven, hell, and the afterlife. Some believed in heaven but not hell, some believed in annihilation after death, and some believed that as soon as they died, they would be walking in heaven on streets of gold. However, hardly anyone talked about how things were initially created and how they, and their occupants, would change over time. I am writing this book with the purpose and hope of providing light and biblical proof of how things began and how they have indeed changed over time. All in the master plan of the Almighty God.
